Who I am

A little about me

My name is Austin Brantley and I am a current student at MGA in the Computer Science major, with a focus on web development. I have been creating things with code for around 5 years now, and started my coding journey about 10 years ago. I actually founded a company called Silver Panda Tech about 5 years ago. It started out with me creating Wordpress sites for local businesses that friends of the family ran out of their homes and wanted to start selling online. Now I still do a lot of Wordpress sites, but the majority of my current work is from scratch so I can customize the software to my customers needs. However, this is all a side business, and I have a full time job as an IT specialist. Here are a few skills I use quite often in both:

  • I use quite a few languages to manipulate data and visualize it:
    • Python for pure data processing and an API
    • Javascript/HTML/CSS for the web consoles that deliver info
    • Java for one off desktop apps, our environment is windows/linux
  • I am more well acquainted with Linux than I am Windows, but I do use both regularly and support both.
  • I have a few well developed soft skills, I speak with upper and lower management often to express and gather ideas.
  • I have headed multiple projects with multiple team members.
  • Working with and supporting end users.

My Hobbies

I have a few hobbies to keep me sane, and my favorite is riding. I own a 2015 Harley Street 750 that I upgraded with a stage one kit. I take it out on adventures when its nice out, and I often find myself in random places that are too stunning to remember to take pictures of. This is an image of my favorite spot in Georgia, called the Georgia Tail of the Dragon.
